AA-TUFF Wood Strainer and Posts

This timber is cut from 80-year-old Araucaria tree's in South East Queensland and has proven to be incredibly strong and durable despite it's light nature. It is sustainably managed at certified plantations and is ethically sourced. Having the timber mills close to the plantation sites allows for the reduction of carbon footprint. This is called reducing the 'log miles'. Endura post have a ‘Zero Waste Policy’ meaning they ensure all of the by-products are managed in environmentally sustainable ways, and on-sold as renewable products.

Even though Araucaria is considered a soft wood, names can be deceiving as this is a soft wood only by name. It boasts a tight, fine uniform cell structure with minimal knots combined with 80 years of growing strength.  Due to the age of the wood, it creates a timber that is up to two meters in diameter. The strainers and posts are cut from the age-hardened section that does not include the sap wood, unlike most other timber strainers on the market.

Combining the structural strength with a H5 treatment ensures that the AA-TUFF Wood will not be susceptible to termites or rot for generations.
